Family day at the Fair.

Last Friday I took half a day off and took the family and my mom to the Big Fresno Fair.  As everyone knows the fair has a lot of fun thing to do including rides and the Sham WOW guy, but I really look forward to getting good greasy food at the fair and this year was no exception.  I picked up the kids around 11:00am and we headed to the fair arriving around 12:00pm and everyone was hungry!  To start the day off Savannah and Luke had tacos this is something that they get every year.  My mom and I went for the Gyros.  This was good enough for my mom but i was still hungry so of to the "Fry everything"  booth.  I got a Deep fried White Castle burger and some fries.    Good stuff!  Since lunch was done we were off to the rides,  as everyone knows when you go on the rides you have to stop but the food booth and get some cotton candy, A very fun but sticky treat.  Right after we finished with the rides we meet up with Janice how had to work until 3:00pm and then it was time to get some healthy snacks,  you know French fries, ribs, kettle corn, corn and a corn dog.  Although the ribs were good I was a little disappointed that they were very fatty.  Now that dinner is done it is time for desert, this is one of best parts of the fair while Janice and my mom love the Cinnamon rolls I love the chocolate dipped cheesecake. Then it was off to the exhibit halls and a new tradition for the family is to get beef jerky while we are walking around, good stuff and cheaper if you buy the 3 pack. Luke was able to swindle out a bubble gun and Savannah was able to get a few little trinkets to have in her room, it was now getting dark and time to head home but on the way out I could not help it I just loved the smell of the chicken skewer so I got one on the way out although I was not the only one that ate it. I can't wait for next year!

Picking out the appliances!

So the other weekend Janice and I went to Sears to pick out the new appliances for the kitchen. It looks like we will be getting a Dishwasher, Stove, Micro hood, and we will be getting a slightly used refrigerator from my parents. This is one time that Janice did not take long in picking things out. One of the features that I wanted was a gas oven that had five burners, Janice was looking for some thing that will not show fingerprints and is easy to clean, I think we were able to get both. After we got the appliances picked out we moved on to the kitchen sink.  I was very worried because our current sink has chipped and I was afraid that a new one would do the same.  While I was a Costco I saw a black composite sink that will not chip, I think this is a win win.  Currently our kitchen has chrome hinges and handles so we will need to pick out new ones as well as a new faucet for the sink.  We are both excited to get some new appliances and I am looking forward to putting them in.
Demolition day is coming soon so so I will be needing help if anyone would like to get some frustration out on my cabinets or ceiling that would be a big help.
